I was inspired to create this in a series of illustrations during the spread of Covid-19. Lakeside is a neighborhood of Richmond, VA that celebrates a humble, cozy and small town feel. Nature in the form of parks, botanical gardens and a community feel make this one of the sweetest neighborhoods in Richmond. As the unique businesses and institutions of Richmond have all been affected by the pandemic, I wanted to pay homage to their humbleness and their stories. This print of Lakeside, Virginia's staples was drawn with pencil, painted with watercolor, then decorated with fountain pen. This print has about a .75" border of white which leaves it perfect for framing. It is printed on matte, poster-grade paper. This would make a great gift for someone who loves Richmond, for one who once lived in this neighborhood or is moving to Lakeside!

The print features some of the most distinguishing landmarks and small businesses of the Lakeside neighborhood: Roy's Big burger, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Final Gravity Brewing Company, Once Upon a Vine, Hobnob, The Mill on MacArthur, Bellevue neighborhood entrance, Bryan Park Arch Entrance, Bright Spot Coffee, the Lakeside Farmers Market and Dot's Back Inn!
